LUXURY IS HANDMADE by Wounaan Indigenous Community

The Wounaan indigenous community takes 12 hours of making each placemat

-The crafts are vessels of culture because the indigenous community translates their beliefs and symbols in each piece that they make it.

- Each home piece created by an artisan's hands gave a special value because one piece is never the same as another, small variations have a powerful message, which reminds us that is a handmade piece.

All placemats are handmade by artisans from the Wounaan indigenous community in Colombia using a natural fiber taken from the werregue palm tree to create the core base of the piece and then knitting it by hand with natural fiber taken from the same plant and copper threads. A technique this community is widely known for. Each piece takes 12 hours of handmade work.
