WOOL IS WATER - EL DORADO EDIT X REBANCÁ FABRICS

Living fabrics: a collaboration between El Dorado Edit and Rebancá fabrics

There are materials that aren't produced. They're raised. They're accompanied. They're spun. Wool is one of them. To create a wool garment—like those born from this collaboration—there's a journey that involves shepherds, shearers, spinners, dyers, and weavers. And also water, lots of water. In times when this resource is increasingly scarce, wearing wool is also an act of conscience: a silent luxury, woven by many hands.

Tejidos Rebancá and El Dorado Edit present a collection that combines the traditional with the contemporary. A capsule of pieces developed together, reinterprets the ancestral vertical loom technique with shapes and categories that until now had not been part of Rebancá's universe: structured trousers, bustiers, embroidery, and handmade beading interventions .

These pieces are the result of a curatorial and collective exercise, where El Dorado proposed new design paths, and Rebancá responded with the mastery of his craft. It's not just about changing the form: it's about pushing the limits of the material without betraying its origin.

Each knitted pant, each embroidered bustier, speaks of that: the possibility of imagining the future without losing our connection to the land. Wool, in this collection, is neither a trend nor a resource: it is a living material that traverses time, bodies, and landscape.

This proposal is part of the current exhibition at El Dorado Edit, where signature design meets traditional knowledge and together they pose an open question: how far can a technique go when it is allowed to breathe?
