THE MINERAL GESTURE - EL DORADO EDIT BY DANIELLE LAFAURIE & ANDRES CARO

FRAGMENTS THAT SPEAK

To see the world through Danielle Lafaurie 's eyes is to understand that a jewel is not just an object, but a living fragment. A constellation of elements that, when combined, narrate rather than embellish.

In this collaboration with El Dorado Edit , Danielle proposes a series of pieces that do not respond to a traditional collecting logic, but rather to a poetic of assemblage . Each jewel is born from a gesture of observation: stones hand-carved by contemporary artisans, beads, gold-plated seeds, fragments of found objects. Materials that are neither imposed nor molded to conform to a predetermined form, but are instead summoned to participate in a new composition.

Danielle assembles not to complete, but to reveal . Each union is a microsculpture, a mineral story that acknowledges its origin. It's no surprise, then, that many of these pieces also reside in museums: not as ornaments, but as narrative artifacts.

Artist and jeweler Andrés Caro joins this proposal, developing links, clasps, and connections in his workshop that not only resolve the formal structure of the pieces but also contribute a rigorous, sculptural interpretation to the whole. His participation closes—with precision and silence—the collective gesture of this capsule. Because if there's one thing both creators share, it's a common intuition: letting the material speak first.

In a world saturated with glitter, these jewels invite us to look closer. To pause. To be surprised by the imperfect, the natural, the undesigned.
